The booking terms for every StayCV trip. Please read them — paying a deposit means you accept them.
StayCV is a brand of MTH Tours LLC, a Connecticut limited liability company (“StayCV”, “we”, “us”). These terms govern any trip you book with us. By paying a deposit you accept them on behalf of everyone in your party. Questions? Email hello@staycv.com.
You tell us your dates and preferences; we send a proposed itinerary and price. A booking is confirmed — and a contract formed — only once we have received your deposit and sent written confirmation. Until then, prices and availability may change. The lead traveller must be at least 18.
Prices are per person based on two sharing, in US dollars, and exclude international airfare. Solo travellers pay a single supplement. Prices are not fixed until we issue your confirmation.
Each trip page lists the details. In general the price excludes international airfare (we're glad to help you book it), the Cabo Verde EASE / airport security fee, travel insurance, most lunches and dinners, optional activities and gratuities.
A 25% deposit confirms your booking and is non-refundable except as set out below or as required by law. The balance is due no later than 45 days before departure; for bookings made inside 45 days, the full amount is due at booking. Payments are handled securely by Stripe; you are responsible for any fees your own bank or card issuer charges. Please raise any dispute with us directly before requesting a chargeback.
We'll try to accommodate changes subject to availability. Changes may incur an administration fee plus any additional supplier costs, and changes close to departure may be treated as a cancellation.
Cancellations must reach us in writing from the lead traveller. Because we commit to suppliers on your behalf, our standard charges are: 60 days or more before departure — loss of deposit (25%); 45–59 days — 50% of the trip price; 30–44 days — 75%; 29 days or fewer, or no-show — 100%. Individual suppliers may impose stricter, non-refundable terms, which we'll tell you about before you book. This is why we strongly recommend travel insurance.
We rarely need to, but if we make a significant change to, or cancel, a confirmed trip for reasons within our control, you may choose a comparable alternative (paying or receiving any difference) or a refund of all monies paid to StayCV. Our liability in that case is limited to those monies; we are not responsible for other costs you arrange independently, such as flights — another reason insurance matters.
International flights are not included. We're happy to help you find and book them, but any flight contract is between you and the airline, and you are responsible for your international flights and their timing. Please allow a sensible buffer around your trip. On the Santiago + Sal combo, the inter-island flight is included and booked by us.
You are responsible for a valid passport and for meeting Cabo Verde's entry rules for your nationality, including EASE pre-registration and the airport security fee. We provide guidance and reminders; completing EASE and paying the fees is your responsibility. Always confirm current rules at ease.gov.cv.
Comprehensive travel insurance is a condition of travelling with us — covering, as a minimum, medical care and repatriation, cancellation, and the activities you plan to do. We may ask you to confirm your policy before departure.
Some activities (hiking, swimming, boat trips, watersports) carry inherent risk and depend on suitable health. You take part at your own discretion, should tell us of any relevant condition in advance, and must follow your guides' safety instructions.
Please treat our team, suppliers, other travellers and local communities with respect. If your behaviour seriously endangers or disrupts others, we may end your participation with no refund.
We arrange your trip using independent suppliers selected with reasonable care, and we accept responsibility for arranging the confirmed services with reasonable care. Except for liability that cannot be excluded by law, our total liability for a booking is limited to the amount you have paid us for it, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
We are not liable for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control — natural disasters, extreme weather, epidemics, government action, unrest, strikes, or transport disruption. We'll do our best to assist and to recover what we can from suppliers, but cannot guarantee refunds of sums suppliers do not return.
If something isn't right during your trip, tell your guide or contact us straight away — we're reachable 24/7 — so we can fix it. If it remains unresolved, please write to hello@staycv.com within 28 days of your trip ending.
MTH Tours LLC is based in Connecticut, which has no seller-of-travel registration requirement. As those requirements can apply based on where the customer lives, StayCV does not currently accept bookings from residents of California, Florida, Hawaii, Iowa or Washington. By booking, you confirm you are not a resident of those states.
If you refer someone who then books, you receive US$100 once they have paid in full or completed their trip. The new traveller must name you when they book. Rewards are limited to one per new booking and cannot be applied to a deposit. We may change or withdraw the programme at any time; confirmed bookings are honoured.
We use your personal information only to plan and deliver your trip and to communicate with you, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your data.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, USA, whose courts have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
We may update these terms from time to time; the version in force when you book applies to your booking. The current version is always at staycv.com.
